Seaview: Pretty Powder Bath

We're onto the 3rd of 4 before/afters in this great home! Today it's powder bath day!

No windows and a tiny footprint mean you can add the details to make a powder bath fun and we went for it!

I love the drama of going into a well-done, dark bathroom that's lit just right. It's a little dramatic, and you always look great in the glow of a pretty lamp. As a guest, stepping into a well-done powder bath is a nice little retreat to freshen up, and as a homeowner, it's a fun moment of luxury in the middle of the most basic of days.

Check out our progress in this space!

Before:

This bathroom had builder grade finishes and a lower ceiling to accomodate some ducting above. We decided to embrace the compact feel with some upgrades that uppped the cozy factor!

Design Phase:

We opted to go dark with layers of details, including the marble basketweave tile flooring, a black wall wood wall treament and a strong wallpaper. Originally I sourced a geometric, but eventually as you'll see below this was swapped for a gorgeous William Morris paper that resonated so much better with my florist-client, and brought in some green that was also echoed in the hall bath upstairs and the laundry room (coming soon). We went with a wood mirror for some warmth and a great midcentury sconce that is more mood than task lighting, just what you want in a powder bath!

Final Reveal

Here's the final result of this gorgeous room! A star in and of itself, it's one of my favorite projects to date!!

Thanks for following along in this fun before/after journey! I have one more space to share and then we're on to the next room!
